I am looking to see if there is anyone who remembers serving with my Dad, Richard (Dick) Leigh, who was the the 27th Delta company in Vietnam until Jan. 1968. He is still living but in poor health and we are gathering memories of those who knew or served with him in the war. Many thanks,Jenn Siegfried
I'm requesting anybody that was with Alpha Co., if you knew Henry Herschel Ballew better known as Herschel,in July and August 1968 and had dark red hair, was 18 years old, was only in country for 35 days before he was killed defending a bridge in Operation Allen Brook, I believe, would you contact me. Herschel in that 35 days was a Pvt. when he arrived in Viet Nam on July 19, 1968. He was promoted to Pfc. and was promited to Lance Corporal within that 35 days before being killed. They didn't just give out rank in the Corps that easy back then. Herschel also said he was unexpectedly promoted and had done something that he didn't want to say what it was at that time because everyone back home would think he was bragging. his family was later contacted about some award he was maybe going to get but we never heard anything after that. I've been trying to find out what happened since 1986 but not with much luck. I'm doing this for his family. In one of his letters to his girlfriend he mentioned a friends name of a Paul Roadruck, if anyone remembers or knows this Marine? My name is Harry Mason, my e-mail address is hwmason@madisontelco .com , my cell phone is (618) 977-7126. I'm a former disabled Viet Nam veteran Marine myself from the Illinois side of St. Louis, Mo. Any help in this matter would be greatly apprecuiated

All, I am hoping to connect with some of you who may have known my uncle Stephen J. Hinds who was with Alpha Co., 1/27 and was KIA on April 13, 1968. I am so grateful to have found this site and learned more about the others that died that same day of all companies in 1/27. May they rest in peace. I would appreciate any photos or remembrances of him as my mother was his older sister just one year apart.
My mother just received an email from Pat Kahler, my brother's Company Comander.
Is there anyone who recalls my brother? He was severely during Tet Offensive. Maybe Hue or Phu-Bai.
Thanks
I wonder if some of you remember mi. I walked point for 2nd platoon Charlie company for my last 60 days in Nam, after being transferred from up north Khe Sanh. Some call me Hawk-eye for my ability to detect bobby traps. In one of the patrols,I was in the third position when an Afro-American that proceeded me stepped on a mine. I don't recall his name or the point-man that day in June or July 1968. Will appreciate if someone that remembers the incident contacts me. Semper Fi
