My family was from Go Noi island, Quang Nam, Vietnam. The war drove my family from a peaceful village to crowded Saigon. The war killed more than 3 million people, destroyed almost everything, and made people more radical. Now looking back after almost 40 years since 1975, what US achieved in Vietnam war? I do not see much. I was able to get out of Vietnam but my family didn't. I was "Gone With The Wind" and could not resist. I feel sorry for American who died and got hurt during the war. But millions of Vietnamese still suffered after Americans left. What US government achieved was just to start a war and get out of it.
Dearest Allen -- You don't know me. I'm seeking to find you for my cousin, Donnie, who not only served with your beloved brother but was his dearest friend and at his side (8 June 1968). He seeks to find Stephen's family. After all these years, he is beginning to heal and coordinated a bus trip to THE Vietnam Veteran's Wall yesterday. For the very first time Donnie found your brother, via his name W 58 line 1 .... His wife helped his get a scratching of his name and we found the notebook with full names allowing me to begin my search. Please contact me upon receipt. God Bless you and your precious family and all the work you've done to heal as well. Warmest regards, Debbie
I visited the Porterville Vietnam War Memorial on Memorial Day, it's good to see so many at the site. The trees were planted in honor of each veteran on the plaque. They were truly remembered on this day.
On this Memorial Day 2014To those who gave all from the 1st. Bn. 27th. Marines may they all Rest in Peace. You Are Not Forgotten Semper Fidelis...
